Empty Spaces

I sowed a seed of a new relation

I watered it with love, nourished it with affection

It grew huge and tall like trees of Amazon

It caught everyone’s eye, it gained wonderful attention

I loved to see my little sapling soar so high

I thought I was with the perfect man, I wouldn’t deny

The seemingly never-ending pleasure was so nigh

That I never realized, there can be a day when I have to confront a “GOODBYE”

My tree faced the first blazing storm

And experienced how if feels when there is no warmth

And then came the gossip bees, hundreds in a swarm

But my love tree struggled out, these trifling things couldn’t beat its form

But fighting the foes, it had gone weak

The emphatic plant, was turning meek

Its leaves were shedding, for the world seem bleak

But I didn’t let it fall, I secured the leak

My tree grew again with all its might

But this time not alone, I was holding tight

It withstood the scorching days and the dark nights

For the lame men, it was a breath taking sight

But gradually my tree was getting old

And with it my man was getting cold

I was about to face a story untold

The rain had gone, but the winter was ready to unfold

I could experience the chill and the paling leaves

With every drying flower, my chest’s painful heaves

The loss of each thread of love that I dearly weaved

The utter sadness which everyone in love receives

Alas! Here comes the snow

And my love tree has its heart beat low

I approached my man with my footsteps slow

And I could hear him say an icy ‘NO’

For my plant, those couple of letters, were the last

The tree fell with another blast

With the countable breaths, it remembered the past

But those precious breaths left it fast

With my love tree dead, my heart has also lost its beat

Tears flow down, splashing on my feet

His knife of sorrow has penetrated deep

Such that I yelp, I cry in sleep

I looked for him at all the places

I found him, but to his love not any traces

What should I say? I am out of letters, words or phrases

With my love tree dead, what is left are just empty spaces!
